Orace bone script

Back to Teaching Technology
China is the only country in the world with a literature written in one language for more than 3,000 years. We can say that Chinese literature is one of the oldest in the world.

The oldest __Chinese characters__ [1]were found on oracle bones[2],
which were animal bones or turtle used in divination in Bronze Age China. Those characters we called Orace bone script or literally “shell bone writing”. Actually, those characters are more like symbols and hard to understand.

Look, these Oracle bone scripts are more like symbols !!!

Those old Chinese characters were carved on the bones with knife (made with bronze) and only a few characters can be showed on each shell bone.

Very few oracle bone writings date to the beginning of the subsequent __Zhou Dynasty__ [3], because pyromancy fell from favor and divining with milfoil became more common.
